First of all, I didn't know these digital microscopes existed. But after having it for a couple of months now and using it on random items at home, it has become a pretty cool tool especially if you have young kids at home. It does bring out the explorer in them and the screen and lens do seem to work well together. You can either example things like a petri dish or completely without the plastic housing and just put things literally underneath the microscope. Overall the SEEKID Kids Microscope is a pretty cool toy as your kids become a bit more curious. The battery life is good. The image quality is acceptable.
My son loves this. It took him a minute to fully understand how it worked, once he figured it out he was all smiles. It seems sturdy and we hope it lasts! I love anyway to get my kid off of electronics. Obviously this IS an electronic somewhat, but if he is running around taking pictures of nature and learning that is a bonus! It is nice that it has a little onboard storage, but also has the ability to expand the storage with a MicroSD Card. I would recommend this to anyone with an inquisitive kid.
This was much better quality than I expected. It's durable and a great size for small hands. Anything with a light at this point is a hit with our 4 and 5 year olds and this tops them all. Their love of anything nature is extended now that they can see things at a level they didn't know even existed. We started with salt, then hair and soon there wasn't anything that wasn't getting examined. I love seeing how interested they are in ordinary things and how they look up close. We're all really pleased with the magnification level of 200 - 1000x which is amazing!With the age of our little ones, we aren't really using the camera/computer portion (we don't allow commputer time just yet) but testing it, I found that it would probably work best for viewing using a tripod (and there is a tripod connector). This potential adds so much more that can be done in the future for us as the boys grow and means this microscope will be used for a long time.The only thing that would have made this better would have been a carrying case, but honestly, for the money and the amount of fun our kids have been having with this has made it a great value. It'd be a nice gift for your favorite explorer.
I got this item for my classroom thinking it would be fun to look at various objects close-up. The microscope magnifies small objects just as it is supposed to, but you will not get the magnification that a traditional microscope offers. For example, I looked at salt under the microscope and was barely able to see that it was cubicle. It did however, bring it closer to view. I think that this microscope would be best used to look at larger things like insects, plants, and flowers. The instructions were not easy to follow, but after some experimentation, I discovered that the microscope was not difficult to use. It has buttons to increase or decrease the magnification and can even take a picture of the object you are viewing. This would be an ideal gift for pre-schoolers and students in elementary school. It has an attractive appearance and is sturdy enough to endure accidental fall or drops. I can imagine it being a treasured possession of any young scientist.
This is Great and AMAZING and my kid Loves it! Being able to see small things so close up is really exciting. Its so super easy to use. Just place it on the thing you want to see close up and spin the...wheel (?) On the side to zoom in and sharpen the image. It also has a micro SD card slot to save images on and you can connect it to your computer to view the images there. This is good for exploration and learning fun!
This is a wonderful toy for children who enjoy science or hands on learning and play. The instruction booklet has easy to understand instructions and device care. This is very lightweight so easy for a child to carry around and "explore". It can take up to 200 pictures, and you can insert your own storage card for additional pictures if needed. In addition to also recording videos, which is awesome.The cat design is super cute and adds to the child appeal of this microscope. This has easily been one of our favorite STEM toys. I ordered it for my 3 year old, and he was absolutely obsessed from the moment we turned it on. Surprisingly, my husband was just as fascinated! We spent a long time walking around the house looking at everything from rubber bands to bugs, and it's amazing how clear the magnified images are.It arrived partially charged, and it didn't take long to top off the battery. The screen is bright, the controls are simple enough to figure out, and I really like that it comes with a neck strap so kids can carry it around while exploring.My only suggestions for improvement are with the accessories. The clear specimen container is small and easy to misplace, so I wish it had its own tether or strap attached to the microscope. I also wish it included a storage bag or carrying case. For now, we're keeping everything in the original box so nothing gets lost.Overall, this is an awesome educational gadget that encourages curiosity and exploration. It is easy to use and is charged using an enclosed USB cord. Directions are included and are easy to read and understand. The focus is 1080p which is high definition quality. The price is definitely reasonable for such an educational tool like this one. The product is sturdy and well made....the kids definitely have a lot of fun exploring their surroundings!
My kids have loved this thing. It really shows you some things you may not want to see and feel more comfortable seeing with the naked eye. Picture is super clear and stable even with little hands holding it. It's got an insane amount of focus and zoom on it. If you want something fun to play with that the kids can learn about pretty much anything, then this is for you. I will fore warm you, don't look at your kids cuts of scabs, and don't let them show you what's crawling on your fresh farm veggies, just wash them and thank me later.

This microscope is great! My grandson loves it.
This is a very cool microscope, much higher quality than I expected at this price, and great fun for kids (and also for adults)! The screen and optics provide a very decent image, and the built-in LED lighting lets you place the device directly on whatever you are viewing. It is easy to focus, but keep in mind it that, like all close-up imaging devices, it has a very narrow depth-of-field, so if you are moving it even a little bit toward or away from your subject you will need to constantly refocus. There is a tripod mount, so if you put it on a tripod your can more easily view fixed objects without pressing right up against them. I would highly recommend this microscope for a kid that's going to handhold it against things and view them on the built-in screen. On the other hand, if you intend to view the images on a computer screen, this gets more difficult, and probably beyond the capability of most young kids. There is an option to connect the microscope to a computer via a USB-C cable. I tried this on my very standard Windows 11 laptop, and it could not successfully connect, kept giving me an error signal. (The cable was fine, the USB port works fine, etc.--I am pretty savvy with cameras and computers, so this was probably not a user error). The instructions are minimal and not very helpful--e.g., they tell you to "download and install the AMCAP software" without providing a link (you can probably find it by searching), they refer to a button (the "confirm" button) which is not shown in the product description or indicated on the device, etc. On the device itself, there is a slot for a TF memory card (more commonly known as a MicroSD card), used for storing photos and videos. It's quite tricky getting the card to stay in--there is no indication as to how to orient the card, and it kept popping out until I was finally able to get it to lock in. There is also a dust cover to protect the optics when not in use, but once fully on, I found it extremely difficult to get it back off (best to squeeze it in the middle and pull hard). There is a slot in the dust cover for prepared slides of animal and plant specimens (this is not mentioned in the instructions or in the online product description)--a very nice feature, and the slides are available on Amazon at a very reasonable price. Bottom line--great as a handheld high-magnification viewer, worth it for that alone, but good luck if you are trying to use the more advanced features.
